Keep it professional!

This is seemingly something that needs to be over emphasized. Keep It Professional! I can’t tell you how many times I have noticed unprofessional behavior by people who actually should be trying to stay professional until there are no other choices. And if you happen to be reading this and think this is about you, well it is, but it isn't lmao. So no offense at all! This is seemingly something that needs to be over emphasized. Now, a lot of people seem to fail to understand that if you make music and you are trying to grow, then you are a business. This means you need to start doing things in a way that resembles a professional business owner. Here is a list of things that will for sure help you grow better.

Implement new stuff and use the latest promotion tools. Nothing is better than finding that tool that just completely works with how you like to do things. Not to mention, there are a few platforms on the net that are proven legit and totally work.

Build a budget! Look, I get it…. Some of you think “it’s not about the money” for one reason or another. But let us be honest here, do you want to keep working or wondering where the next buck is coming from? There are steps you can be taking to put you in position to build up easy monthly income. It takes work, but it can be done.

Spread the word, get active!!! You will never grow if you are always sitting around watching stuff happen and never participating. Share stuff, rather it’s your own or someone else’s, follow people back, comment, like stuff once in a while. Help others once in a while, just because.

Do stuff how people asked!!!! When someone has specified how they want you to send stuff to them, unless you simply can't do it how asked, you need to do it how asked lbvs! Take it from someone who asks for submission for various things all the time. If I say have your metadata updated, or send a specific genre at this moment, or include details for this or that, it means there is a specific reason for it and it is needed that what is requested is also provided in such way.

Don’t argue or question. Again, unless you simply can't do it or need some kind of accommodation, you need to send it how it was requested. Don’t be lazy, it is totally not a good look!

Stay out of beef and controversy!!! Unless you are skilled at turning it into beneficial traffic, do not trash talk other people or businesses on your professional platforms. It looks horrible and on top of that, what does it say to businesses/people you may want to work with in the future. To me, I ask myself “ok so if I work with this person and something happens are they then going to try to trash talk me and my business simply because they are unhappy with something?” Horrible Horrible Look! Just detrimental!

Clean up your accounts, work on getting professional imagery. You don't have to have uniform art for all of your tracks or anything like that, but you should at least try to have professional art for most of your releases and those that are not should at least be decen

Learn how to work with people! I will put it as simple as this, you find me one successful business that became successful without some kind of connection or relationship either to start it off or to help it along the way. Now, I don't mean that literally, but you do need to learn how to build and maintain healthy relationships.

Opposite to the above, you need to learn how to leave people alone when need be. When it is realized that the relationship is toxic, cut em off! End of story.

Stay positive and simply keep on going!
